You can either activate a tariff which gives you the first 20 minutes of each ride free of charge for a period of time or you can pay per minute of riding (Pay as you go).
Tariffs for Helsinki (on the app)
All tariffs, except the “Pay as you go” and “Tap and ride” tariff, include a free 20-minute cycling time each time the Freebike is rented.

After 20 minutes of each ride (Free minutes), you pay the Cost per minute.
Tap and Ride Helsinki: To use the Tap and Ride system you don’t need to register or download an app and purchase a tariff, instead you can just tap your card (smartwatch, phone etc.) behind the seat of the bike, and you will be charged directly to your payment card once you finish ride. 10 € is blocked on your credit card at the start of the ride and cancelled at the end of your rental.
Additional fees
- There is no starting fee with Freebike city bikes.
- There is a fee of 1.50 €for parking outside of stations (check station map in Freebike 2.0 app or https://helsinki.freeibke.com).
